I bought a 90 crx dx and it came w/ a one button alarm box w/ the key. It has a little red led next to the button. The speaker is on the driver side of firewall. If the battery is dead and i try and start it the alarm chirps. Can anyone tell me anything about this alarm? Is it a factory option? Does it disable the ignition? Any info. Thanks

 

Look for the actual brain of the unit and you'll be able to find out a little more info. Im sure it is just sitting up under the dash below the steering column. Not a factory option though.

 

Thats funny because the Haynes repair manual has a picture of rhe engine compartment and it has the exact same speaker in the exact same place. The car didnt come with a factory manual in the glove box. The prior owner must have lost it.

 

Look at the actual alarm module! Not at the manual. I guarantee you this was no factory option on a 1990 CRX Dx.
