ok i live in california where smog sucks. will i pass smog if i was to have ctr pistons and itr cams? everything else will be stock and i will be running the stock ecu when smoging the car with a new cat welded on. my only concern is that the ctr pistons will raise the compression up so i may fail. there is no way they will know i have ctr pistons and itr cams though. anyone done this in california yet??? let me know thanks.

 

can you leave it stock and go test, pass, then put the pistons and cams in?

 

That buys the OP 2 years...but I think he'd like to know if it will pass so he knows whether to use the ITR cams and CTR pistons.
Pulling the motor apart in 2 years because it fails smog will be a major PITA.

will im building a motor that will last more then 2 years so i dont want to have to take the motor off just to smog and put back in thats why

 

unless you put a dif engine in. every time you go test put in a stock d15 or something. can people do that in cali?

 

lol I doubt anyone would like to swap out their engine every two years just to go pass smog.

With stock ECU it may pass still...
What abou tthe I/H/E?? will they all be stock or aftermarket?

 

right now i have aftermarket intake header and exhaust but they are all carb legal. aem intake and dc header. i still have my stock parts that i can put in just in case.
