Default Found a ZC

I have a 91 civic hatch that I picked up. Im looking for motors for it and I found a JDM DOHC ZC d16 complete long block with trans for $300. He says the engine runs and doesnt smoke. He pulled it out of his 92 civic running. Is this a good deal? I also found a local machine shop to short block it for $537. I wanted to swap a B in it but for the price of this ZC I could rebuild it and have it running like new for much less then a B motor would cost. He does not have the ecu or harness for it. Are those going to be hard to find?

Thats a pretty decent deal on a ZC. As for the harness, you use the harness that came in the car, everything should plug up for the most part if not all.

The ECU you can use an ECU from a 88-89 integra if you can source that. I also think a pm6 will work, but im sure someone with a ZC swap will chime in. I'v also heard pr4's work for an ECU.

you need to use the engine harness that came in your car and make any necessary wiring changes to it - if your car is a DX or STD model, you will need to convert from DPFI to MPFI - OBD0 ECU for the JDM DOHC ZC is a PM7 which is kind of hard to find - the PG7 ECU from 88 or 89 Integra will work about the same and not too hard to find - if the engine was in a 92 Civic, chances are that it is either an OBD1 ZC or an OBD0 that has been converted to OBD1 - not a problem either way as it can be converted to or back to OBD0

I swapped a DOHC ZC in a buddy's Si, used his PM6 and it ran just fine.
