Default not so quick question

Ok guys me again. I got my braking issue out of the way. Needed to rebleed. Anyway, I'm prime for an engine swap. I've got around 3k to work with. This SOHC has got to get out of my car! 94 LX sedan. I love my a/c but I could ditch it if called for but I would like to keep it handy. What engine do you guys suggest investing in? I was looking at B16s, B18s. H22s are a bit pricey and from what I could tell a lot of headache compared to the civic model vtecs.

Second question. If I decided not to swap and keep my stock d15b6. yea yea I know. bone stock d15b6. what kind of power do you think I could get out of it? I'm not looking to run 12s or anything. I just want the car to move when I tell it to.

If your going to keep the engine you have, Get a header and full exhaust system. Intake system including the intake manifold not just a cold air intake. Get a full MSD ignition system (coil, cap, wires, rotor and box) with some bosch plat 4 plugs, underdrive pulleys and maybe chip your ecu. Then youll have a little power to work with. I dont know much about motor swaps for honda there is alot of money in some such as the moter, tranny, mounts, axels,Ecu but if you stick with your motor that will get you some hp if you add some bolt ons.

you can get a full b16 swap for way less than it would cost to all the above listed.

DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY OF THIS JARGON!!!!
Boost Boost Boost if you plan on keeping the single cam.......MSD..wtf? retard...
Otherwise find yourself a nice b-series if your looking for a swap and simplicity.
Please for the love of god don't put 2000 into your single cam for 12hp... I could use half of that swapping a b-series that would smoke a N/A single cam.

i agree... with most of this.

boost is the best option for keeping the D. plenty of guys have put that to the test. the b-series again, tried and true. many guys with loads of experience can answer all your questions if you decide to go that route.

it's that one last part that bugs me... i think what you meant to say was small displacement N/A single cam. 2.3L of N/A toque domination!!! haha.
