Well now you have to go to an auto parts store and buy the brake light switch and replace it its fairly easy and it costs like 25 bucks i think i have the same problem i'm replacing it right now. Oh and in the mean time don't forget to unplug one of your battery cables so your battery doesn't die, mine did. LOL

yea good looking out on the unplugging one of the cables...
is cause my battery is located 2 the trunk lolz.
A nut and bolt in there will do the same thing as the little rubber ice cream cone thingy. Your brake lights will work normal again.
i remember when that happen to my ef sedan i thought i had a electrical issue but yeah what i did was ghetto lol i just tape a penny to the back of the pedal so what it was touching the switch. hopefully that help.

The rubber piece is what contacts the pin on the brake switch when the pedal is depressed. On our older cars they often break off. The most common fix is to replace it with a nut and bolt. If you read, the OP has fixed the problem using the method I suggested. Its the first thing someone should diagnose before even considering the brake swtich, column switch, or whatever the **** these idiots are trying to suggest. I wasnt suggesting to replace the entire brake switch with a nut and bolt either. No one can be that dumb on purpose.
