What head gasket you guys running at 30-40psi?
What head gasket you guys running at 30-40psi? I was running a cometic at first, then changed to a copper. Took it to the dyno and at 30psi it lifted or blew, I think just lifted though. Anyone with experience with the copper? Pretty sure im suppose to retorch after a while but didnt think after 6 dyno pulls. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
I use only golden eagle. They are factory gaskets resized. I would look at your timing map- 9 times out of 10 timing causes headgasket failure.
I have a aebs o-ringed block. Has or is anyone running a copper? I may have to try that golden eagle this time! The cometic was pretty good to me also though.

just out of curiosity, what makes people think the head "lifts"? is there a sign or do they just feel badass thinking they make so much power that the head magically wants to fly away? no offense to you OP.
I would look into your tune. That is probably causing your headgasket issues. I run a cometic and have no issues at all with it.
I run a cometic but with a copper you should use hymor, I think to is it. I used to retorque it after the car came up to temp or after a couple of pulls or runs.
pretty much the same one, but this time thought I would go with a copper? Wish I didnt now. Did not have any issues with to cometic, couple people I know did over time though. This is my first HG problem so I thought I would ask some questions.
I know that I've tryed them years ago and never had any luck with them even N/A. I had stainless wire with a reciever groove and all kinds of sealers. Nothing worked.
used all goldeneagle stuff before and switch to aebs on a rebuild and had nothing but issues.now im back to goldeneagle everything-block,headstuds,mainstuds,and gasket
From what I've researched Honda doesnt have enough clamping force to smash the copper gasket to seal correctly. Having only 10 bolts/studs are not enough.

ive gone back and forth between OEM and cometic gaskets with arp studs and have come to the conclusion it doesnt matter as long as the tune is good, and more importantly the machining of the block and head are good. 90% of the time i have seen head gasket issues has been a result of shitty sleeve jobs. or people hot lapping their cars with crap radiators, radiator fans, and having coolant temps that are through the roof.
missfires are brutal on the head gasket too.
