Custom AP1 headlights with LED's....do you like?
I've been playing with LED's for quite some time now doing LED retrofits for my AP2 headlights. Recently some of my AP1 buddies asked me what I can do for their car so I took a set apart and played with it.
Read about my AP2 headlight LED's here:
http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php...&f=12&t=639691
It seems the biggest drawbacks to AP1's:
a) Looks outdated with the big amber reflector
b) Plastic gets burned over time
c) Naked blinkers still look dated
So I took what I learned from the first AP2 setup and this is my initial setup for my buddy. The LED's behind the smoked amber reflector will blink orange for perfect legality concerns. It can be wired based on each owner's custom tastes meaning I can make perhaps the center strip a parking light (stays on) and the two other strips blinkers or any number of combinations. I can even do 4 vertical LED strips if need be.
Again this is a totally custom setup so the end result is limitless. I'm building 2 sets right now for local bay area s2ki members so PLEASE give me your input!
PM me with any questions
The 6000k white LED's up front are part of my Audi look and each individual part can be done separately or combined for a very cool headlight that draws virtually no power and never heats up!
So to sum it up this AP1 headlight has:
1) Painted gloss black headlight trim
2) 6000k white LED Retrofits on lower portion
3) Vertical LED strips that as as parking / blinker lights
As they say pictures speak a 1000 words so here is what I've done:

who is your friend?
Ask him to post some pictures taken at dusk....best time to show off the intensity and details of the LED setup! I sent a set to a guy in Miami and waiting on him to post some pictures too....
LED's is an individual thing for sure - we all have different tastes so that's ok. I find a lot of the body kits and JDM crap ugly but I understand it's an acquired taste. Not every mod is for every person or otherwise we all might as well buy the same car and leave it stock

If you have any questions just PM me
I agree the bumper lights are not a good fit for the s2000.....these were originally meant for the NSX guys as I had this on my own nSX as well

i like the spacing and the layout of the current ap2 lights you have on your car, can you run those same led's in the ap1 housings?
Thanks for the kind words ~ glad you like them!

here's a few more pictures of the yellow s2000, any questions drop me a PM!
