Default what do you track guys use?

K so I have my CRX si tranny and I want to rebuild it , But I would like to use Mfactory LSD and the 40mm bearing also would like to put in carbon synchros , but I am told we have weak transmissions like an eclipse

I have never raced my CRX before or driven it really hard so I wouldnt know if they are weak or not , my question to you guys , my buddy just uses normal trannys with no LSD and he has like 2 backup tranny's for when one blows he just takes it out and rebuilds it , Is this the way to go? or should I invest in the Synchrotech transmission parts?

Well depends on what your using the car for. If your doing auto cross and dd then I'd just leave it the way it is. If your doing drag racing then yes a lsd will help with your traction issues but then so will a pair of good tires. Lsd's are good but they also suck in a front wheel drive think "torque steer like a ****".

These trans are not weak at all and neither are eclipses. I think your friend either does'nt know how to drive or keeps getting crap trans. I've seen personally a stock si trans both cable and hydro put up with 280+whp and take mulitpal launches with no problems at all. Its all really what your doing with the car and how you drive. If your just using it as a dd then stock will be good. Drag racing with some extra power or boost then invest in a good lsd and gear set.

I track\Autox\DD my CRX and I'm using a Si transmission with an OBX LSD. The transmission was "rebuilt" with new seals\bearings and it has held up very well the last two years.

As far as torque steer, I really don't notice torques steer with the LSD, but I don't drag race it, so it might show up there.
