Low idle under load, '91 DX 1.5L
Hokay... I've got an odd idle issue. Doesn't seem to be the same as the idle issues in the lengthy thread on this page. At idle, with nothing electric on, it idles just fine. But if I hit the brakes, it'll idle too low. Same happens if I turn on a bunch of electrical items. No tach, so I cannot say numerically where it is, but it is low enough to make the entire car shake. It doesn't feel as if it is close to stalling, but it is definitely too low.
It also smells as if I'm running rich, if that helps. Timing, perhaps?
Miles and engine background unknown, but it has a new radiator and thermostat, for the record.
KTHX!

You might try replacing your ELD (electric load detector, usa only) it's supposed to increase your idle as you draw more current. its part of the fuse box under the hood, but to replace it the whole fuse box needs to be swapped out, the eld is like built into it or something
also check for vacuum leaks, since you mentioned your brakes causing it.

did you inspect the grounds? if there original i highly recommend replacing them my car was idling hella low every time i turned the lights on and if i hit the brakes the same time the lights were on and heater was on it would stall and it was all from shitty grounds and a bad alternator cable..
