Is better upgrading stock differential, on b16a2 hydro clutch, with phantom grip lsd kit or using obx new lsd?

Neither. The Phantom Grip doesn't work so don't bother, and you're hit or miss on if you even receive a decent OBX unit. If you are on a 'low' budget, get an MFactory LSD and call it a day.

OBX does not know how to machine. i.e. It will most likely be out of round. I don't install them anymore for this reason. 2nd to last one they sent me had .023" runout. The replacement for it was handpicked by them and had .005" runout, and 3 of the ring gear bolts made enough contact with the housing that they could not be tightened. I got a refund for the customer for it being defective, but they still charged their 30% restocking fee.

Listen to Aquafina and me, there is a reason we stopped installing OBX's.

Depends on power / driving style / condition of parts.

From personal experience, my friends and I are making up to 480 whp without any issues with the STOCK B-series trans. But we only get to put on like 20-50 dragstrip passes a year on slicks, but drove them everyday almost.

K20egcw, you probably didn't install the diff to take a look at the quality and measure anything. You guys probably received by chance a decent one. One that I received didn't even have the ring gear bolts tapped, two washers were cracked, diff housing bolts not torqued evenly, and the washer shims weren't in any rhyme or reason. Sorry OBX, but no thank you. Not worth the hassle when I can drop a bit more on an MFactory.

I will use the car only on strip but i'm at the beginning and i'll use a stock block not already sleeved. So i'll not have a big power at wheel so i think stock trans will work fine for this year.
I also thinking to use the ph grip transmission cradle.Do someone already used? What u think? thx

Have a backup trans or two ready, you're going to blow the diff apart. Cradle won't do anything to keep stock gears from breaking once you have a lot of power.
