What is the cheapest place online you have seen car stereo equip. go for. And does anybody know why some places online could get them so cheap compared to crutchfield and other major companies like that?

 

i just use yahoo search. I found a great place http://www.etronics.com but i don't know how reliable they are. I order a receiver from them yesterday. It was the Pioneer premier deh-p440. At the local store, it's 219.99, but it's 158+15 shipping= 173. But it depends on what you want...at etronics, they don't have ppi, phoenix gold, jl, boston accoutic, but they do have pioneer, rockford Fosgate, sony, kenwood, alpine, clarion, audiobaun, jbl, infinity, and some other stuff.

As I said b4, I don't know their reputation, but i'll let you know when i get my stuff. I've heard some ppl say that sounddomain.com is good also. But the receiver i wanted was 209.99 here w/o shippin i think.

I think the reason why they are so cheap is because they don't have too much overhead cost such as, no floor sales representatives, less charges on bills(ie electric, water, gas), they buy in large quantities, and don't have to advertise. I'm not a business or economic major though so don't really count on that just a thought

 

i actually just ordered from them as well, they provided EXACT shipping costs to canada (including brokerage, taxes, duties and shipping and handling) so it was easier to tell if i'm getting a good deal or not (for example infinity components you might as well buy here....the duties and stuff come to almost $100 more!)

after looking at a lot of these websites, i think i would go with audio-warehouse. They have the cheapest prices, and since honda-tech guys say they are legit, i'll trust them.

Yes, but only some. Everyone's availability to Alpine product has suffered since they started distributing to Crutchfield. Let me know which particular model you are interested in and I'd be glad to get back to you with pricing and availability.

etronics is a pretty good store. I got my stuff yesterday 8-27. I order on 8-21 so it took 4 days to ship UPS ground. I'd shop there again. I ordered the pioneer premier deh-p440 for 158+15=173. It was delivered in a big box filled with styrfoam peanuts. No damage to the box whatsoever. I installed it last night n everything works great. I'm really happy.

also..not to bash on audio-warehouse..but the JBL 1200.1 is $469!! i don't want to even think about shipping afterwards i can find one for only $285, and it comes with free headphones. lol. my friend lives in canada and got his stuff in 2 days! oh yea..and the store is bsless.com i'll come to audio-warehouse, if i see more deals that i can afford.

Can someone plaese tell me why anyone would shop at Crutchfield. I have now idea how they make there business model work. Charge full retail price on everything, so you end up paying more than what you could get it locally for.

because they have awesome customer service. not everyone has time to shop around. if they can catolog shop on their lunch break, call it in, and order it, have it in 2 days with instructions for THEIR model car and all the peices needed to make it work, it has to be worth it to some people. why do people buy computers from warehouse.com - they dont have any special prices, they get retail, but their service rocks nuts, people will pay for service.

i use to work there with him. they're a legit company thats been around a long time, unlike alot of the other places out there.

 

shop at crutchfield. they've been here for over 25 years. talk about experience! bsless.com gets my vote. prices are great and so is shipping.

 

the only drawback i see to online car audio purchases is that if you blow it up, you gotta ship it back and be without that component for weeks before you get it back.
