Default B18 Swap

How good of a engine is a nON VTEC B18 engine?? Is it a good engine swap for my 89 crx SI??

Good engine, parts are easier to get and more upgrades are available for it than the ZC.

you would be better off spending the money that it takes to install the stock B18 for upgrades to your D16A6 or swapping in a VTEC D-series engine - the extra 100 pounds or so of additional weight of the B-series engine/transmission, etc. is like taking 10 horsepower away from the B18

that would be where the extra torque would come in

if you had an 88 HF then i would say D-series with mods. i had a d16z6 88' HF and it was so much fun, reliable, amazing gas mileage

but you have an 89si probably with a tired motor. throw in a b18, it's freaking easy in an Si.
