Ive seen the one with the fuel pump test, as well as the injectors. Its absolutely AMAZING how much fuel those cars dump in a single pass!

The 20k rpm song in this vid sounds magical!

 

I believe these engines use pneumatic valves, that is something that I would like to see!

this video is a lil old but yes they do use pneumatic valves. i visited delwest engineering here in Santa Clarita, with Ron the gm there. and let me tell you it was a sight i brag about all the time. i have personally seen alot of top engine builders valve train and how dissimilar they all have there setups. i personally seen the pneumatics work and how amazing this r&d dept is. they are full on labs and white coats in most of the dept there.

millions of dollars roll through that place. and it is just for valve train. nothing else.

delwest specializes in titanium and pneumatic valve train systems and is the main supplier for f1 moto GP and Indy. Indy however stopped using air assisted valves and now uses there springs i believe. simply amazing.

Honda performance development is also across the street and that place is quite a dream land for most of us. full security and you bet you wont be able to see what i saw there. id prolly get shot if i said anything about that lol

a large garden hose per cylinder, haha I guess atomization and spray pattern are not very important in Top Fuel

 

Well they say that a top fuel engine basically is hydrolocking, under load.

It is crazy to see just how much fuel is being dumped into the cylinder though!! amazing.....

 

a top fuel engine uses around 5 gallons from the hit of the throttle to the time it goes through the lights. thats 20 gallons to the mile.

Back in 1987 rota's mom and I sat across from the pits all weekend at F1 in Montreal, the sound was have the fun. I went to that race for 14 years. If you guy's ever get the chance, go watch one of the F1 races. TV doesn't do it justice.
