Ok I have a 96 civic EK and it is currently midori green. I want to paint it because there are some problems. The clear is peeling on the bumpers, the hood has some scratches, the guy I bought it from put some bondo on the rear fenders to cover scratches and dents basically it looks pretty ugly currently.

I was thinking just do midori green, but give it that "like new" look because I dont see too many midori green EK's around where I live. But then again I don't really love the color, so I was thinking something new and different. Silver, Blue, Red, yellow all look great IMO and I would love to do a fresh color.

But my issue with doing a whole new color is this....

-My engine bay is midori green, and it would be a PAIN to paint it. I would have to take everything out and im scared I would not be able to put everything back correctly.

-My door jams are all midori green and it would also be a PAIN to get them.




EDIT: Here are some old pics from when I first bought the car. I have done alot to it since, side markers, took tint off, new shift ****, new rear view mirror etc.

Notice the bondo? Also i HATE how the trim is faded and black, looks very ugly.

i would just play it safe and re-do midori, it's the type of color that grows on you and with the right set of wheels can look really awesome. so midori gets my vote.

 

What type of rims do you think look good with midori? I was thinking of getting the Rota circuit



Or Rota Boost looks sweet too

 

midori green is a sexxay color when done right and "fresh paint" looking. you can keep your jams the way they are now and maybe add a little bit more pearl or mettallic to your paint when you re-do the exterior. and wut FFF said, with the right wheels your car will look sick!!! gotta believe in your ride!!!! =D

 

sicc83 has the sweetest hatch on here I think, let alone midori green. Check his out and maybe it will help. I would definately go with a black, or polished wheel. I dont think a sliver, bronze ,or gold would go to well.

 

I think bronze goes great with the green, mabey gun metal grey?

 

Keep it Midori man....I think it looks so nice. You don't see to many Midori Ek's. Did you tuck the bay yourself? Oh and peeps in here might give you a hard time sense Rotas are apparently not "real rims" hahahaha...Your interior looks pretty clean man.

 

ahhh that looks amazing. Are those 17" Steel Gray P-45F Rota wheels? Or are they something different? I want to get new wheels and those hit the spot they look great! I have 17's right now and wanted to go smaller but if those are 17's pictured they look great. Back to the original topic If I were to paint the car and wanted a different color I would do it right and get the engine bay and door jams all painted too. I actually know someone with a car painted a diffrent color and it doesnt have the door jams or engine bay painted the same color but you cant tell unless you open the hood or doors.

 

I like to keep it very clean the only think I hate is that retarted red switch the previous owner installed that does nothing at all, im removing that ASAP other than that its perfect.

 

Those are 17" Work RSZ-R's. They are WAY too expensive for me, lol but they look amazing!

I'm almost afraid to buy wheels that expensive with so many Honda's being stolen and wheels being the easiest thing to steal. Taking a closer look the Rota J-SPL looks just like them. Unfortunately its Rota I hate to buy the knockoffs but its better than the Riax Zuka wheels that are on my car haha

I like laguna sega blue it looks nice ,they have it in a flat no metalic color looks nice.Just did my hatch magnesium gray matalic looks nice it is an oem honda color (2007).if you pay the money they will paint everything

 

Farkiller, aspen-white looks great on an EK, and then painting the rims bronze. Guarantee you will have heads turning if they see it
*That's the color configuration i had on my old Mitsu GSX before i knew the word "DSM" was true. (Down Several Months). Mitsubishi sucks!

 

Hey guys I just bought the 16" ENKEI ES6 off ebay, do you think they will look good? They were the same price as the rota. I am thinking about painting the silver lip midori green to match the car.

 

Personally, that midori green is vibrant and will show a lot of ware/tare and could possibly fade from the lip of the wheel. Do you really want to sit in your drive way every other day cleaning them and doing touch-up painting? Lol.

 

Those wheels are ugly imo.
