Default X Prepared

What class is this in Auto-x? My interpretations of the rules are that you can basically run a swap provided that you meet the minimum weight requirements for your displacement, is this correct?

keep reading the rules. XP is a class for more than a swapped honda. cars can be way light, make huge power (ls1,2,3,7,9,a ect into anything rwd) on big honkin' tires. if you wanna run a swapped honda, leave the interior in and run in SM

yeah, dude, XP has some crazy cars in it but as long as you have the $$$$$$ to build a civic into that class go for it. but if not, SM would be the cheaper route. if you have a little bit more money to spend you could always try EM.

Prepared cars are on the edge of not being street or emissions legal either. Gotta watch that.

sm sux in FWD as well. why do u think rodney jumped ship? its hard to beat AWD. now if u put an evo drivetrain in a civic and ran it in XP, that would be cool (if it was done legaly of course)

I run in XP from time to time with my civic since it isn't a street legal car. I have no competition with the few clubs i run with, one year there was 3 guys in that class, the following year im the only car when ever i go that runs that class. The other 2 guys went back to SM to be more competive. Keep your interior and run SM. i wish i kept mine just so i could run SM.

Thank you for your responses thus far. For the last three years I have been running in EP. My car was only raced in auto-x and hill climbs. The club I race with doesn't have fast long courses, except for our hill climb. So corvettes and typical big power houses aren't able to take advantage of their power fully. I had about two to three regulars competitors in EP. I can usually beat SM with my old set up (stock d-series). I however want to start going for TTOD in auto-x and better times in hill climbs, the hill climbs specifically as that is where my lack of power shows. Recently, my father in-law totalled my car in a hill climb. This has presented me with a unique oppertunity to start from scratch. The top time cars are usually EM, or XP Volkswagens. I thought that if I ever swapped in a b series in my hatch i would have to go to a mod class either SM or EM. So I guess my real question is what's the difference between EM and XP?

And for SMF I cant think of a better platform than a lightly built K24 in an EG - TORQUE everywhere. Although that said, a B18C5 or better yet a built B20V in an EG sounds like a killer setup.
