Helmet Lock ?

Helmet Lock ?
When I put my helmet on the lock it hangs against the muffler. This seems bad, is it? There is no way to avoid it-the helmet lock is 3" above the muffler. BTW it is an 88 EX250.

mine touches the swingarm and sometimes gets some goopy grease on my perfectly white helmet.

I doubt it'd hurt the helmet, though it might get dusty/dirty. All the same, I rarely leave my helmet with the bike...would much rather take it with me, so no goober can put nasty things in it (some clown put a half-eaten burrito in a coworker's helmet when he was in a restaurant...we never found the f---tard either 
).
