PROBLEMS with F20B swap
So i was getting a f20b DOHC swap on my 97 accord non vtec and i ended up with a huge amount of problems.
my accord has crank sensor on the crank wheel pulley and the f20b dohc does not.
my accord injector wires and plugs are different and the swap f20b are different
my odometer is not working for some reason
anyone have a how to on these???
i am currently using my stock MANUAL tranny
and my stock non vtec harness and my STOCK P0J ecu at the moment just to have it running
i am thinking of switching to a p28 ecu and adding the 3 wires for the knock and vtec sensors when i switch ecu's.
anyone here with some help or know how i would love to know...
much appreciated.
even if i can find a how to install guide for accords would be good.
btw i searched and came up with nothing.

The engine you bought is probably obd1, that's why you don't have the crank sensor at the pulley anymore.
You're going to have to adapt the new injectors to the old wiring (stock harness).
Odometer not working, have you plugged the VSS back in the tranny?
As i mentioned to you on the other thread you made, you WILL have to run an OBD1 ecu and have chipped and then tune it.

i read somewhere that i have to wire it up somewhere i just dont know where.
i have an extra wire off the dizzy that is the rpm signal
is the 97 accord a obd1 or obd 2? at what year did they change in in the accords from ob1 to obd 2? also does obd2 in accord have a obd2a and obd2b version like the civics???

Jdm motors dont have that crank angle sensor either, weither it was obd1 or obd2 didnt matter.. Jdm motors had that stuff in the dizzy.
well our usdm's have cylinder position sensors in the dizzy, but we have the crank position sensor too. are you sure jdm motors only have the cylinder position sensor?
my jdm h22 has a crank position sensor...but if the f20 doesnt dont worry about it
did your f20 come with a wire harness or just the motor? if it came with a wire harness just take those injector clips and wirethem into your accord harness...easy...just dont mix them up when you do it...best way is just do one at a time
and that ecu is killing you...you need to go obd1 and tune it

To the OP, I would just get a P28 chipped ecu w/ H22 basemap and get it tune. I would go ahead and add vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch wires. If you're going with a p28 chipped ecu, it won't be looking for knock sensor, nor IABs because its not built inside the OBD1 ECU. Weird thing was, My JDM H22 is a '96 motor and my Accord is a 94 model. Everything plugs and play, no changes to distributor, injectors, nor crank angle sensor(Don't even know if it exist on my motor).

You cannot half *** these things and expect it to work.
Get a proper harness or modify yours.
Get a proper ECU (chipped P28 or P06).
Get a OBDII to OBDI conversion harness.
The F20B is close enough to the H22 the H22 install guides in the Accord FAQ apply.

exactly!!
quick update....
i finally got the motor running MINT.
what i ended up doing was the following...
run a obd2 to 1 conversion harness
use a p28 ecu with a h22 basemap chip
had the timing RESET again apparently people in JDM land dont know how to set the timing and it was off by two teeth (the cam angels where correct) BUT the balancer was off and everything else was off underneath.)
i manually disassembled my old dizzy and the jdm dizzy and made a hybrid and re-wired it up using a multimeter. This eliminated the infamous Speedometer problems etc....
the only thing left now is vtec wire up.
since i am using a obd1 i wont need knock sensor
but for some reason i cant find the vtec oil pressure switch plug where is it????
