Im doing a mini me on a 1999 civic cx with stock d16y7 and im putting a d16y8 head on it. Everything that i have read says that I have to cut the orange wire on the iacv and reverse the other two wires, but why cant I just run the d16y7 throttle body and iacv so that I dont have to cut any wires. Besides this wire modification and adding wires for knock sensor, vtec, and vtec pressure. Will i have to do any other wiring changes.

 

You cant run the y7 iacv and manifold because it utilizes a 3 wire iacv and the y8 ecu utilizes a 2 setup.

 

Ok so the ecu is the problem with running the y7 iacv and throttle body not the actual iacv itself correct?
