Hey, I jsut bought an rsx base model (2002). I woundering if the exhaust system for the type-s is different than the base? Would a type-s catback exhaust fit on my base?
coculd really use the feedback....

 

im wondering this also since the base rsx/ep3 have the same engine and i would like to put a type s exhaust on mine. i know the base and type s have the same body but diff headers i think...

 

Yes, the Type-S piping is larger.

Yes, its a cheap and effective mod.

No, it won't work for the EP3 without shortening the midpipe a few inches.

 

No, you can't just bolt it up to the base model rsx, you would need a type s header, or aftermarket equivilent.

 

what hawaiian said, but you can also get a muffler shop to weld you an adapter, which in turns you might as well buy the type s header and cat(which will cost you max 100 for both plus the exhaust you can find 75-125), or save up for a type s race header to go with that type s exhaust

 

alsooooo make sure its a 05-06 type-s exhaust, the 02-04 is too restrictive and the 05+ breaths better, combined with a race header, the car sounds good
