Icon6 How do I fix the scratches and damage on my rims?

I just bought these Integra GSR rims for my civic and they have some scratches and damage so I just want to know, how should I go about repairing them?

I searched before posting this and found some information about sanding and polishing but I'm not sure if that's what I need to do to repair my rims.

That sanding and polishing thread would help, but the scratches might be to deep to remove entirely. And you would probably have to recoat/ clear coat the wheel

Hmm...well the rims have this nice looking rainbow effect when light hits them so do you think it would mess that up if i sand them and polish them and all that?Another thing I'm worried about is that the marks from the sand paper would be visible...

After you polish the rim, the sanding marks should go away.

The face of the wheel is machined. Polishing it would remove that "effect" you're describing. To remove the damage, you would need to sand down the areas, and then have the wheel re-machined. But, more than likely you would have to weld in the deeper areas. Not really worth it, for fat fives.

yes, matt is correct. the wheel has a stock oem clear coat and it is machined (or diamond cut)under neath. by simply sanding the surface it will ruin the clear and you may as well start sanding the whole wheel and polish them while you're at it or even try to just even out the surface then prime and paint the wheel instead.

deeper gouges, scratches will need to be filled in w/ a welder.. all as mentioned above.
