Cody Red's Rio S (56k go away)
Hey gang,
I bought my ap2 in April of '08 and its been a pleasure daily driving her thus far. I come from driving a '04 RX-8 (lightning yellow).

I was frequent in Autocross with the rx-8 (2007 BSP champ!) and also with the AP2. But since my move up to Round Rock, Texas, i've yet to do an autox event or even a PCA/HPDE/NASA. I had a chance to do a PCA event in the ap2:

^It was a blast even though i was rolling with the factory tyres and pads. It requires a little more driver skill than the rx8, which i love.
couple autox photos:

some fun (this was done in the back of my cousin's wrecker service, it was all dirt (not that bumpy) the area in which we were practicing countersteer and throttle control) and no..i don't drive like this in the public:

i wanted to get a close shot, haha

^that was quite fun, and i only lost it once!
back in february this year, I purchased the Shine top. yes..blah blah blah it's not the real spoon, and its stupid to copy someone elses work, and it's yeahyeahyeah. I didn't necessarily buy it because it was cheaper, but rather, through extensive research on tops comparing the two (Shine and Spoon), Shine's fitment is better, it's more stable at high speeds (second piece is bolted down, rather then held by the ball-deal), and it's lighter as well (14lbs compared to 22? 28?). Overall i'm satisfied. And although it was quite noisy at times, sometimes i wish i would have gotten the OEM top. But then i go to the garage and look at her, i think otherwise:

my buddy's, that helped install (ex-ap1 owner!)r32, had to throw it in..

I still do want the oem top look, but I think i'll look into buying an ap1 to daily drive and just track the ap2.
I haven't really upgraded anything except rt615s in the rear, Star Specs up front, hawk hps pads, and a Berk Technology test pipe.
Track wheels/tyres are next and then i'll start looking for a daily driver ap1 (or a type S if i can find one).
thanks for looking

ps: i sorta miss 9,300rpms, especially in the middle of a righter hander in 3rd gear

nice, i love Rio Yellow.
i like the Shine top more than Spoon because it has side windows, but i think you should paint the screw for the window black so they don't stand out as much.
very nice looking car.

very nice looking car.
thanks though
Nice pics, but whats the point in the blue tape if you're gonna take it offroading and sling gravel all over the paint and body anyway? Also, how tall is the person that can barely see over the door panel?
my girl is like..5'2" but i believe at the time she had the seat up a bit with some incline going on (we were up drinking and taping up the car til around 4 in the morning, only to wake up at 7 to head out for the event).
thanks

Ken at Shine Auto Project had honored a deal for me after such a long time at $2400 to the door (with hardware, plexiglass). I believe they normally go for 2600? Plus $600 to get it straight and painted black.
I had wanted to paint match it, but I was let go a lot sooner from work, and yeah.. I think it looks good in black anyways. I may eventually go yellow.
Yeah man, via corpusracing haha. how've you been?
