thinking about buying a 98 or 99 accord
I'm looking at a couple different accords, one is a 98 and the other is a 99. Both are 4 door EX's with 4cyl. auto's. I was wondering if there are any problems to look out for with these cars? I've heard the newer V6 accords had probems with the auto transmissions, how are the 4 cyl. auto's? Any other things to look out for? Both cars seem to be in good condition with around 100K.
The 4 cyl. auto can have the same problems as the V6 auto.
If you can drive stick, find a manual. I have a 1998 Accord with a stick and it definitely feels and drives better than the auto.
The engine itself is solid (not surprising, its a Honda), mine has 212,222 and still runs great. The only Honda thing I can think of off the top of my head is on some Accords (happened on mine too) the rotor cap and assembly will become susceptable to moisture and need to be replaced. Not a big deal at all but left me stranded one day when it died in the rain. Only time I think that car has ever failed me.

Damn. I can drive a stick no problem but I was wanting to get a bigger, comfier car compared to my slammed and boosted DA. I was acutally looking forward to getting a auto for once. I guess I'll still look at the 98+ Accords, they will just have to be 5 speeds which seem to be hard to find.
