Default Which headgasket!!!??? I am ***!!

Okay, I have done the search already so be nice please.

This is my setup

B18C1 Bored .84mm with Golden Eagle Sleeves with O-rings
JE Pistons 9:0:1 Compression
B16A2 Head with Port and Polish
Rev-Hard Turbo with Vortech Intercooler

Here we go, I am getting compression leaks which caused the car to overheat. The compression is surpassing through the radiator which causes enormous bubbles and pressure. When I squeeze the coolant hoses, they are hot and hard. which means compression is in the system. The gasket I am using right now is GSR OEM bored out to .84mm. Please help. I have torqued down the head to 80lbs of trq. What am I doing wrong?

i am not sure but i have heard when you o-ringed the block, you must use a copper gasket for better sealing.

http://www.cometic.com/
Call Cometic to order a sandwich style gasket in an 84 mm size. Their tech will put you into the right gasket.
When you say you are torquing the heads to 80 lbs, I hope this is with ARP studs and not stock head bolts. Make the switch to studs if you are using bolts.
One last thing, when you pull the head, be sure to have a machine shop check it for flatness. Mill as little as possible, if that is necessary. Also make sure you do not have a sleeve that has dropped a few thousandth.

I have 2 brand new cometic 84 mm gsr headgaskets....same thickness as stock. $70 shipped. This will be the best gasket for your aplication. To even better seal them, get a can of peratex spary at the parts store and spray a few hours before install. This will just help keep the coolant and oil to where it wants to be. Also, dont use a copper head gasket...your block is already o-ringed....Mike

no...they are all sandwhich style. That just means the top and bottom layer are the same thickness and you just choose the size of the middle layer to control overall thickness.....Mike
