Auto to manual tranny swap...4th in a 5th?
Alright guys...i need your help. I'm currently in the middle of a auto to manual swap, and i'll admit that i'm actually doing this in a prelude. BUT none of the prelude owners are able to help me with this...and since the accord 5th gen and 4th gen prelude share the same basic mount configuration, i was hoping to get some help.
I went out and got most of the swap parts i needed from a 91 accord...except the mount which apparently had already been yanked out before i got there. Well, i have everything together except the mount which i have on order... Everywhere ive been looking says in order to swap auto to manual in a 4th gen accord, you have to reweld the bracket on the frame... So my question is, since the 4th gen accords used a different mount set up...will i have to cut and reweld the bracket on my frame, or can i just use the method in the 5th gen how to and drill a new hole in the bracket?
The only reason i'm asking is because it looks like the studs on the tranny are a little off center from the bracket...but the engine itself seems like it might be off angle as well without the tranny being hooked up to its mount
thanks for ANY help

MY $.02 would be to torch cut the mount off and remount in the perfect location. When you mount a motor or tranny in the wrong spot your talking about axle vibration, axle contacting fork, possibly worse. Yeah some have done this method with Accords I have heard of but I wouldn't chance it. Get your measurements with the axles in swindle if possible or mocked and then tow to get welded or weld it yourself if you can. I am gonna have exp in this area after my project. I could just crap my pants right now thinking about it
