question about oil weight
so it time for yet another oil change, this past winter i was runnin 5-30, but now its summer time should i run a thicker wieght like 20-50. the average temp here through august is like 90 and up
I don't know what year your car is. Look at Honda's recommendation. Alot they recommend 5W-30, Some 5W-20 and I think theres some running on 0W-20, Run what HONDA recommends for your engine.
Run 5-w30 at any temperature or 10-w30 from 20* F and up, that's what my Haynes manual states. Hondas have closer machining tolerances and the thicker oils can't get into the small openings. The thinner oils lubricate sufficiently, and you'll get better fuel economy. If you're concerned about lubrication, run an OEM or other good quality filter and a good synthetic oil.
