Default Swapping QUAIFE from 97 to 01 GSR transmission

Hey Guy's,

Here is the story.

I had my Quaife LSD in my 1997 GSR S80 transmission and when I installed the differential into this case a year ago i cracked the case where the snap ring to lock the case down is. I have recently found a really good deal on a 2001 GSR transmission and wanted to swap my differential into the 01 GSR.

I know the Quaife differential is good from 94-00 GSR cases as per Quaife. What I dont know, is if they're is a difference in the 01 transmission. I have just installed new OEM roller bearings on my differential that are meant for 1997 GSR transmission and was wondering if they will work in the 2001 case, because according to AcuraAutomotiveparts.org the differential bearings between the 97 and 01 cases are different.

Here is the 1997 transmission. Part 17, part # 91005-P80-003
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

Here is the 2001 transmission Part 17 part # 91005-P80-E31
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

Cliffs:

Installed OEM differential bearings from a 97 GSR transmission on Quaife LSD
Now wants to put the LSD differential in 01 transmission case instead
2001 and 1997 uses different differential bearings
Can I use the 1997 differential bearings in the 2001 case

I tried explaining as best I could, sorry for the clutter of words.

Thanks!

Just use the 2001 case, add the 01 bearings (which are not tapered) and make sure you check the shim clearances and you should be good.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess what I'm trying to do is save some money and use the new OE roller bearings that I just installed on the differential. I guess I can't do that.
