Icon2 disappearing/reappearing squeaky clutch

hey.. my 07 Si has had this irritating problem for about a week now. Sometimes when i release the clutch in 1st gear it makes a low pitched whiney squeak noise, and the pedal pulsates a little bit. It does this until the clutch is fully released. I'll drive down the road a few miles and stop, and when I engage in 1st again it will disappear. Will engage perfectly smooth. It's like a 50/50 chance. I did a search, and it seems like it could be about 10 different things. release bearing, need lube, master cylinder, etc. If someone could help me pinpoint it that would be awesome. thanks.

could it be something as easy as just lubing a cable?

we moved away from the cable tranny damn near 2 decades ago.

anyway, OP...i had the same problem that went away. I remember reading something here about a rubber bushing on the clutch pedal assembly that was the cause of it. my problem wasn't gear specific though...it was anytime the clutch pedal was moved.

There are no cables in the system.

Sounds like a possible problem with the release bearing, pressure plate, or friction disc itself. There's really nothing you can do about those items without dropping the trans, so I'd presonally wait until it becomes a more frequent or serious problem.

Had this on an old Sentra way back and it stopped after a clutch replacement. I agree with the other poster it might very well be throwout bearing or pressure plate related.

I get it too. I find it happens more on humid/wet/rainy days for some reason.
