90 hatch running rough after ls swap
ok so i have a 1990 std hatch and im just finishing up my ls swap into it. now i've been working on it for awhile now and it just runs like ****. i have a lot of stuff going on with the car. first off it will throw code 4 every once in awhile and i can tell that when it is running that it is misfiring and struggles to stay running.
also the main relay has been acting up, thing is that its brand new it just hasnt been used since i bought the new relay back in October. it just sounds like the relay is clicking really fast and it wont allow the car to start or run sometimes.
im just lost and i need some advice, and btw i did the mpfi wiring myself and im confused on the dizzy wires because the colors never matched. thanks for any suggestions

Was the distributor used when you got it? What brand is it? Honda's usually don't take well to non OEM distributors for some reason.
Code 4 is the CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor)
This is why your car is running rough. Try a different distributor or check the wires coming off the distributor to see if you have a break in the wire somewhere.

its no longer throwing code 4. it says that its throwing code 1 (o2 sensor no connected) and now code 14, which is the iacv. not it still sounds like **** at idle, like its on three cylinders. thing is that when i rev it up it sounds smooth like it should, but backfires and such. could that be cuz its just open header?
ill try to get a vid up showing you guys the sound

The backfiring is from the open header. The reason it is idling like crap is because the IACV alters the idle at startup. If it is not working correctly it will spit and idle rough. Fix that and the o2 code, as your o2 tells how much fuel to add you should be golden.
alright well im gonna work on it tomorrow and see where i get. switching the wires around at the dizzy really got me no where, it would not start when i swapped them around. it seems to not rev past like 3k until i reset the ecu or once it warms up, then it will rev up and sound great. but its still running like its on 3 cylinders when its idling
im gonna see if i can find an OEM dizzy to try out

ckp sensor will cause a weird idle, and i've heard or it making the engine run very rough as well. replace the distributor, and to save money try taking out the o2 sensor and cleaning it and inspect the wires.
