I tried looking through faqs but only engine info is there. What are the specs on the trannys. I got a 91 si tranny and need to know about it.

 

Depending on what you need to know about the Si trans here are the gear ratio specs if thats what you were referring to.

 

For some reason the table is too small to read on my blackberry. Ratios is what I needed to know. I assume si has tighter gear ratios. Should I be concerned that a d16y8 from 2000 ex civic would be too much for this old si tranny? It is in flawless condition btw and so is the 15k mile engine.

 

88-91 Si

1st gear: 3.250
2nd: 1.894
3rd: 1.259
4th: .937
5th .771
Final Drive: 4.25

The Si trans is the short gearbox. the Si trans will be fine running a y8, the stock trans are quite strong from the facrory.
