dissapointing 1/4 times help.
yeah i a 98 gsr with basic bolt ons and im getting high 15s to 16s and i dont know why and there was another 98 gsr with just an intake getting 15.3 whats the perfect rpm range to launch at iv tried everything from deflating my tires to take the filter off my intake
What kind of shape is your motor in? Is your car tuned? If you have lot's of bolt ons and no tune it's very possible you could have lost power. It can also just be your driving.
it could be anything...if you have alot of bolt ons, check to see what kind of oil you using or plugs and wires...try replacing those... or could be the shape of your motor...
I have a 97 gsr with a few mods and had the same experience at the track. I talked to a few other guys with similar cars that were running low 15's and it looks like the problem was me. if you can get your 60 foot time under 2.4 you'll be closer to the low 15's as long as you trap in the low 90's. It just takes seat time. Try different launch techniques, shift points, tire pressures.

he could have had more things to it like b16 tranny with a lighter flywheel and could have just said he has a intak on but who knows. Remember aftermarket parts doesn't always equal more power. i'm all stock now just a exhaust from the axle back i did a 15.6 at the track. if your wondering where to shift redline that sucka.

2.4?
i hit 1.9 in my bolt on and tuned b17 da with radials. i had consistent 2.2's with street tires
best time i ever did when my gsr was stock was a 15.2@92mph, the #1 thing that helped pull that time was running on dinky 205 40 16 tires. it basically is similar to using a lower ring gear in the transmission. little on the small side for DD use and it throws the speedo off, but, for drag racing, they did the trick.
Post your full time-slip and we might be able to give you some advice.. I'd like to see what '60 ft your pulling.. Seat time is the best suggestion I have to offer, IMHO.
i ran a 15.0 at 95 man with a 2.45 6ft. with boltons and no tune. but when i dynoed it it put down 180whp. 60ft times are important that was my big problem the whole time. i laucnh at 2k and dump the clutch because i have innovative 75a motor mounts. anything over and i pretty much take out 1st and 2nd it seems
would a stiffer engine mount and an engin torque damper = a miserable daily driver? I think most of us have accepted that making our honda / acuras faster and handle better comes at a cost of a less comfortable ride. But I have about a 30 mile commute each way and I don't want to turn my daily driver into a weekend only car just yet.
With I/H/E and a tune, I'm trapping about 95+ mph. My should be some where in the mid 14's, but launching on bald street radials is kinda hard.
Most deffinately a high reading dyno.. I put down 177whp with I/H/E and fully tuned on eCtune.

I'm running bolt ons too on my gsr and i ran a 15.3 15.4 and my trap speed was 91. If you have a good launch you'll be running low 15s or even high 14s.
Tuning is adjusting your fuel and timing maps, and should be done by someone who knows what they are doing. The best thing you can probably do is find a good tuner with a dyno in your area. You'll need tuning software, hondata is a really good unit. New they are around 500-600 dollar range and offer a lot of other features aswell such as eliminating a speed limiter, full throttle shifting, launch control, etc. Get whatever program will suite you, just make sure you get something, as running lots of bolt ons and no tune is a waste of money and will rob power and damage your motor over time.
wow, i thought my ls was quick for what it is. when i bought it, all that was done to it was intake, and exhaust. time slip from a local drag strip was 15.9. street tires, and its a 91. i thought gsr's were faster than that, i figured in the 14 sec. range.
an ITR swap is good for a 14.5-14.7 depending on what height of tire you use and around 96-97mph. my point of mentioning this is getting an end goal in mind. if you want to drag race the sooner you get a turbo and tune the happier you will be. if a long life and great mpg are in the cards either keep the motor stock or switch over to a single runner manifold, itr cams and a decent tune if you want a little more than the stock GSR
my best time iv done with my 95 gsr was 14.8 with dc header, hks intake tube, dinan chiped ecu, and yokohama tires...the last time i ran, i added comptech b-pipe with stock muffler, aem cai and cheap tires i was running 15.2 all day....i think it was the tires...they wernt grabbing like the yoks..
