Finally got my first car, just so happens to be a 99 GS :P
Hey guys!
Just wanted to say i picked up my first car earlier this week. Its a 99 Gs with 117,000 miles on the b18 (auto). It has an strut bars in the front and the back and some "spectre" air intake (any ideas about this?) and also either lowering springs or some coil overs.
I am looking forward to all the help this community is going to provide as i am a total newb to cars in general lol.
As for plans for my car, going to put a real air intake like AEM cold air or short ram, then a magnaflow exhaust. After that im not sure. Thoughts?
And I'm also wondering if i need to install an alarm into my car. I live in a small subdivision across the street from a golf course, in a 100k+ populated city. My dad had his audio ripped out of his old CRX back in the day, but we are pretty sure who did that and they have left the neighborhood. Any thoughts on what type of alarm i should get?
Thanks again guys
Pics will be up soon all i have now is one from my phone

It cost me 6500.
It is in good condition overall. lots of scrapes in the lower parts of the body, i think its cause it came from the burbs of chicago and the previous owner just didnt really care. It could really use some touch up paint. But every part of the car functions like it should. I drove a few other integras before purchasing this one and this was positively the best.

How bad are the honda thefts in your area? Personally I would wire some kill switches if you don't do anything else. It's cheaper and can be more beneficial to prevent theft. Alarms are great too. If you do get an alarm I would just make sure it's a 2way alarm. Otherwise your alarm is just a noise maker and nobody really pays attention. with a 2way it'll let you know cuz you are really the only one that cares.
What kind of springs/coils? ebay specials? if so I would swap those out. Lovin the OEM type R style lip and skirts.

save the money you were going to spend on an AEM intake and use it towards an alarm. Name brand intakes are over rated, your just buying the name.
when owning ANY HONDA an alarm is CRUCIAL. keep in mind that you now drive one of the most stolen cars in the US. get a good alarm, do a fuel cutoff switch, and get a removable steering wheel kit. then think about any other mods u might wanna do. on another note, very nice find. looks clean.

i say keep the stock intake if u are looking for an aftermarket intake just buy a k&n filter and put that on to replace the factory intake. before you do anything get security on it
This is true my 1999 LS came with package, and black leather...To the OP, nice car, she reminds me of my first brand new car...Same color...VSM, Alarm and suspention, then tranny swap...
Not bad. Congrats on a nice first car. Would've been better if you bought the car for less like around 5k. Try to get a good 2-way alarm for it. It's an auto so try to look for new oem parts to keep it running nicely instead of aftermarket parts for street. Spend only on the necessary performance parts unless you got lots of money to drop.
Sucks that its an auto but wow what a great base. good luck on the future of this car. be thankful you got that front lip with the car.

take care of it.
