Default RMS Ryans dc2 tuned 575whp

Ill see if I can get a dyno sheet up but you can see the numbers on the monitor in the video. Final pull was 577whp 405wtq at 27psi.

Setup:

Darton sleeved b18b 89mm crank
Manley Turbo tuff rods
Wiseco pistons (big wrist pins)
Ported b16 head
Mazworx cams
Crower valvetrain
Victor x/BDL 74mm TB
RMS vband manifold
Half backdoor precision 750hp IC
dual walbro full blown kit -10 feed -8 return
FIC 1000's
AEM
M&W pro 10/MSD HVCII coil
GT3582r

Ive talked to a bunch of tuners already asking them why my power is falling off after 8k....? This setup should be pulling hard to well over 9k I really need some suggestions. Ive seen numerous setups make more than this with stock cams. Some have already said that im getting too much backpressure and its holding the power back?

Im not even going to try and type all the hurdles weve had to climb over except thank all the people that helped us get over them.

To all my friends who helping night after night after night!

We stopped at that boost level due to clutch slippage

Congrats nice numbers. Why did you only go to 27psi? What did you revv it too?

I have a 84mm gsr, with a ram horn mani, with a gt3582r. The car made 640whp 470tq @30psi. It cleared the 600 mark around 6600rpm and carried all the way too the 10,300 rpm limiter that we revved too. The car was dropping boost to about 22-23psi by limiter... We could have seen upwards of 660+ if it would have held the boost all the way out...

But for sure that is a monster congrats on the numbers....

Thanks guys! I know what u mean something is definitely off but im not sure what exactly. I didnt spec the cams when they were out so I really dont know what cams are in the car...guess that would be nice to know huh. If you look closely in the video you can see right at 8k the power and tq start to fall and you can feel it in the car when doing a pull. I figured with the head I have and that turbo I'd be pulling all the way up top.....

Nice numbers, so you dont know what cams are in the car? Too large of a cam with too much duration would probalbly make you lose peak power.

Do you have the .82 back housing?

nice man

something is definetly up, there are people making mid 5's around 20-22psi with setups like yours

i would look into the cams as they have the most effect on the power/rpms

stick good power and sick looking setup loving the tial housing

Im running the ACT 6 puck xxr6 I believe its called. Im actually making more than they say it should hold so I cant complain. Yes Im running the .82ar housing. Hopefully some of the tuners can chime in on the power........obviously we couldve made more with some cam tuning but I should be carrying the horsepower much higher. Thanks guys im going to see if I can find some exotic to smoke 2day lol

What is your clutch rated at? I ran the xr6 @ my power level in my sig with no issues at all, my friend made 50 more tq than me on the xxr6 and drove 10k+ miles and dozens of track passes without issues.

I was told by slowmotion is was rated in the neighborhood of 380wtq. The second to last pass we made, as soon as the engine hit boost you could see the clutch slip, catch, then slip again. We let it cool down and made another pass and it held. The power just comes on very violently. Im thinking of getting the CC twin disk here soon and the 1.03ar hotside for the 35r....

From what I have seen and tested with some other "turbo cams" they seemed to help out in the midrange to get the turbo to start working a little earlier but almost always stopped pulling as high as say an ITR or CTR cam would.

Even skunks turbo cams are not designed to rev extremely high. We just recently pulled some "turbo cams" out of a turbo K24 and swapped in skunk2 stage 2s for the K series and picked up about 110hp over what we had at the same boost level, amazing

+2

At 28 psi, the setup should be making more power.
Try a set of skunk2 tuner 1 cams.

turbo cams are junk and it could be that, i had the skunk2 turbo cams (was told they were tuner 1's) and lost over 40whp around 15psi compared to itr cams

i would either degree those cams in, or switch to a set of pro1's (tuner1's if you want them easier on your valvetrain or your worried about v2v clearance)

That seems to be the way everyone is going right now. It makes total sense because the car is MONSTER in the midrange!

Im always ready for the showdown in august. I have to get slicks 1st!

I figured at 27psi we'd be around 600-615whp w/o cam tuning but who knows. Were not done by far this was just to get us started. Twin disk, 1.03ar hotside, HTA wheel, cams are next. I want 700 out of this 35 setup.....

Thanks Billy let me know what u wanna do and well hook u up bro

I appreciate all the support guys...I did, however, forget to thank honda-tech. I've been on this site for about 5 1/2 years now and I've learned so much from all you guys. Thanks
