Hi,

I'm looking for a single CD player to replace our 6 disc add-on CD changer (it broke) for a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The controls are on the radio, and we also have a tape deck, all OEM. I want something that will plug right in and just work, but the OEM replacement is way too expensive.

The nearest Honda wrecking yard is a 3 hour drive each way so I'm hoping someone here will have the right knowledge to tell me which after market manufacturers are best to work with for Honda audio. I'm thinking of just going to Best Buy, but they are hit and miss when it comes to this sort of thing.

It seems like the original factory 6-disc changer was a JVC or Jensen. We want to get a single CD player to replace it since they are less prone to breakage.

I know of no aftermarket single disc that will work, no aftermarket CD player, [single or multi disk] will be a direct plug and play.

Well, I got one of those and it fit perfectly and worked great for about 9 months then died. I'll try to find a better brand on eBay.

they do make aftermarket head units that play both cd's and tapes... just a suggestion...

 

Thanks! We've got the tape and radio which works fine, but the 6 CD changer died, so I thought getting a simple single CD player would be more reliable. I just need a good quality add-on CD player. 6 CD changers are available for $300, but I don't want to spend that much for something that will die in a couple years.
