Default ignition problem?

so one night i was getting ready to go out and got in the car turned the key started the car and relized i forgot something in the house, i went to turn the car off and when i turned the key to the off position the car kept running. the only way to shut the car off is to stall it and disconnect the battery because the power will stay on. Iv disconnected the entire ignition switch and it still wont shut off. Any ideas what could be causing the car to stay running with the key turned off?

you have a turbo timer installed at all?

if so ive heard of a few issues from some TT's casuing this issue, if you do have a TT bypass it next time you turn your car on ( turn ur car off right away to avoid any turbo damage casue the TT is bypassed obviusly) but to check if that the issue or not.

if the TT is not the casue or you dont have one then i would say its deffently something electrical, it does not sound like its the ignition but something possible to due with either you fuse pannel or a criss-cross some were or it could be some wiring issues with the ignition its self.

reason being is your saying you disconnect the ignition plug from the ignition switch and its is still running so its not getting an ignition cut. so to me that sounds like there is a cross or some sorta fautly wiring issue some were casueing your car to keep running indefenitly.
if youve got a helms or haynes( or download one from boomsland/ spoonertuner) manuel i suggest you check out the wiring diagrams and/or trobleshooting for anything.
