95 GsR wobble under acceleration problem!
My 95 gsr developed this problem a few months ago. Ive been trying to trace it but havent had any luck.
Only while on the throttle above roughly 70km/h does it wobble. Its in the front end I can mostly feel the wobble in my feet. While coasting or cruising steady it doesnt wobble, nor while braking. I can go hard on it up to 70kmh and its totally fine, just above that speed does it wobble and the harder im on it the worse it gets.
Ive done new front tires w/ balance, alignment, motor mounts look good but the drivers stabilizer mount does look a bit tired but I dont think it would make that much of a difference. Ball joints tested out good and I cant feel any slack n the wheel bearings. The CV boots look to be in good shape and the axles have a bit of play back in and out, but pretty much consistent on both sides.
I did 5 lug last year and suspected maybe a loose bolt, but I went over them and all was tight.
Any ideas? This is driving me crazy....and I want to be able to boost hard again on the highway!

I have/had a similar problem with my car. I broke a half shaft(again lol) and replaced it. Problem is still their. I'm still dead set on it being a half shaft because none of mine purchased are a "respectable brand" (notice Autozone) But I cannot afford to buy new ones. O'reilly Auto offers brand new NON remanufactured half shafts for our cars for like 70 each if you can get your hands on some if you're thinking they could be a problem? Hope I might have given ya some insight?
Sounds like my friends ef, he would wobble at mid to high range rpms. It had nothing to do with suspension, but rather the tranny was the cause. It wasent the whole entire tranny that doing it, it was the differential. We took it apart and found parts of it had broken off. we replaced it and havent had the wobbling since, but i cant say the same for you.
check the inner side of the driver side axle.usually it suppose to look like a flat US quarter.if its bubbled the axle no good. i had the same problem

Ok thanks for the ideas, Im going to once again make sure all bolts are tight.
I will probably go ahead and replace the axles...and hope its not a problem in the diff.
dumb question...are the axles on the drivers and pass side the same length? I happen to have a spare kickin' around from the 5 lug...
Where abouts does it bubble? Sorry, not sure what you mean by this..

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
the axles are around the same length but are two different designs.
The DS and PS axles are not the same design.
The DS is male/female. The PS is male/male.

Heres a good driver side cv axle.......idk i had a problem where mine sum how bubbled up which made my car vibrate like i didnt have a back mount under aceleration only so i did everthing till i figured this out...it has to be a flat surface....yadamean
Well it's been a while since I've been on here!...but finally this summer I replaced the pass side axle and the wobbling is fixed!
Thanks for all the help and ideas!
I also replaced the pass side wheel bearing and lower BJ hoping that the bearing was the reason I have a hum while driving above 70km/h or so, no luck.
Thinking it might be the other bearing, or maybe my alignment is out causing the tires to howl....? The search continues...
