sup everyone,

i have a Seibon cf hood for my 99 civic. i bought it brand new a few years ago and it looked awesome. throughout the years the hood began to fade and now it just looks aweful. i tried buffing and waxing it without any luck. anyone know of somewhere I can take to hood to get it re-done the right way. any places in the 562/714 area?

get it either re-clear coated or polish it. My friend picked up a cf hood for a dc5 and we just polished it with some meguiars 83.

 

anyone know any auto body shops that can get this done?

Yeah bro, try buffing it again.
The CRX Spoiler i bought was faded to hell and back (looked like primer pretty much)
Buffed it with some Turtle Wax rubbing compound with my Meguiars buffer on Speed 3.
That brought out the CF weave a lot, then i hit it with some Meguiars polishing compound and that brought it back to new pretty much...and finally just wax.

Try some fine sand paper before buffing. Sand that oxidized layer of clearcoat off.

 

Rubbing compound is pretty much high grit sand paper.

 

tried rubbing compound, wax, polish, etc. and did not help.

i know of a place that can do this they did it on my ek vis hood the guy will probably charge like 120 and it takes him a day or two depending on how busy he is but it comes out good...its at a body shop so he actually resprays them with clearcoat, the shop is in santa ana off westminster ave and harbor

 

any other places?
