problem putting on rear coilovers
just wondering if anyone knows what to do here. i was trying to put coilovers on the rear of my 98 hatch and i stripped the hex part at the top or the shock. the part that you have to take the panels out to get to. just wondering if there is another way to get that nut off. will a torque gun work?? any suggestions.
uhh if you are replacing the strut (its kinda stupid to use the stripped one) just use some vice grips on the bottom part ( the skinny silver shaft ) under the rubber thing (i forget what its called)......
I did the same damn thing. The bolt was siezed on there. I bought an air wrench though so I will see if that works.
I'm not sure if you want to stick anything inside that spring when you take off the top nut. It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
