PRM-Main Relay Kill DIY How-to Write-up Diagram CauseforAlarm
Hi Everyone,
Been wanting to do the PRM-Main Relay Kill for a very long time now. While I was researching and reading the How-to months ago, I had emailed myself a link to a Main Relay Kill on the CauseforAlarm website, but it has since then been disabled.
I've done searches here on Honda-Tech, but am only pulling up info from bits-n-pieces of posts and Threads, but not a full Write-up/How-to.
****I would like to do a PRM-Main Relay Kill, but have it REMOTE CONTROLLED, rather than activated by a switch.
I've found diagrams/drawings, but they are for the Fuel Kill. All I know (or have read) is that the PRM-Main Relay Kill is basically:
In even simpler terms:
My Question is, is there a complete Write-up/How-to for this including a diagram? I have searched and come up with advice in various Threads, but not a complete DIY.
Again, like I said, the link to the Main Relay Kill has since then been defunct on the CauseforAlarm website.
Please correct me if I am wrong and point me in the right direction, want to get working on this as soon as possible as I have a lot of time on my hands right now. Your help will be much appreciated, THANK YOU!!

a low current ground, [less then 250mA] instead of a "high current" 12V+, [10A] so all that is needed is a small, [easy to hide] 1A SPST, [on/off] switch, this may help... http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html

Ok, I also found this info:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ain+relay+kill
And as this would be easy for any normal person to follow, I am a seriously visually dependent learner and would really understand it better if I saw pics or a diagram :0(
Also, I know I mentioned I would like this to be Alarm remote activated, but am wondering if you guys would advise me to just do a switch instead? Would that be easier than tapping into the Alarm itself? Please keep in mind that I have ZERO experience with electrical/wiring, so this will be new and a learning experience. I'm just trying to be optimistic here LOL
Advise please :0) Thank You

Keep it simple and separate from the alarm.
Although there are many ways to do it, a simple 1A on/off switch on the PGM-FI Main Relays ground lead, [black] is very effective, even if a crook was able to "beat" the alarm the PGM-FI Main Relay would still be disabled.
If you want it controled by the alarm, wire it just like a starter cut relay... http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp the only diff. is #87a and #30 would be the ground lead to the PGM-FI Main Relay and because you are using a relay you could install the relay on one of the PGM-FI Main Relays power leads instead of the ground.
Again, a switch on the ground is easy and effective. 94

Ok, well, I haven't slept yet and it is 6AM... I drew a diagram, but I am sure it is completely wrong and I would post it up, but I don't want to look like an *** LOL Do you think I would be better off if I took a look at the Main Relay (in person) and all the rest of the wiring, so that it's not like, an abstract idea?? It shouldn't be difficult to get to, since everything is exposed (interior is gutted). It sounds simple, hook the low-current ground to the Main Relay with a 1A switch, but I don't understand where the SPST is in relation ETC

I have pics of both ways to do it. With a standared switch or a relay so your alarm can do it and then both. I will post a write up soon as I can get some time. I am also working a a new kill switch for the drive by wire systems and a few others sytems that honda has.
I also have perfected the break a theif nose with the drive side air bag! This one is funny as hell. Trying to film a video of it. I not sure if i should release this one.

SPST switch = single pole single throw, or on/off switch.
It's pretty simple, cut the black ground lead going to PGM-FI Main Relay and install switch, one cut end to one terminal of the switch and the other cut end to the other terminal on switch, it makes no diff. which cut end goes to what terminal of the switch. 94

OK, well, I thought I read the Write-Up, but it was last year so I'm probably mistaken. In any case, he should write a How-To since there is a link there
LMAO @ "break-a-thief-nose" hahaha
You sound like a busy guy-- I don't think I will be seeing a Write-Up for this Main Relay Kill *sigh* LOL
fcm- Thanks, I knew what SPST stood for, but thought it was a type of Relay (i.e. SPST, SPDT), but I also saw it was referred to as a "switch" in a Tutorial and then you also called it a switch, so now I am just confused...

I will have it up this week! Promise and a new install write up. Its not going to be like the cause for alarm. I do not want people to all have the same set up or copy the alarm brain to the t unless it is a full stealth install in the case it would not help a theif out at all
The SPDT, SPST, DPDT, DPDT and so on, refers to the type of switch whether it's a "mechanical" switch or a relay, a relay is just a switch controled by an electromagnet. 94
