Icon2 93 Accord ex 2D

Yea i recently bought a 93 accord from one of my dad's drinking buddies, and the car is still clean from the inside out. The only problem is that it's an auto, but drives smooth. Everything about the car is still stock so i'm planning on fixing everything up. I'm talking about new tranny, motor, intake, headers, converting it to a manual, everything. I have a question though... I know a h22 motor will fit in, but what about the k20? Do i have to weld it and mend it out a little bit for it to fit cause there will also be a turbo kit along with it? I really don't know that much about hondas but i know just enough to scratch the surface. So please help me with my problems that i have and share your knowledge with me as well.

Thanks,
Lil Hoa

To my knowledge, you're gonna need to fabricate some custom mounts. K20's aren't as popular as the Hswaps so a lot more custom work will have to be done. More power to you if you go through with it though. Goodluck and Welcome!

Yea true that. The H series are cheaper than the K series cause you can just get it swapped out of a prelude. But all that fabricating, do you know where i can get the tools for it?

So you just got the car, and you already want to swap it with an H or K and put a turbo kit on it without knowing anything about fabrication or the tools required?

I suggest you make a list of what you want to actually do and not just think while you type. Come up with a plan and do research on it first then ask targeted educated questions before you join another forum and babble on whatever pops in your head.

Alright dude, the Muff is right. If you dont have any actuall questions what the phuk are you asking? That is just some random list of dumb sheet you and your friends have been talking about. Without out any real goal....
Lets get this squared away. If you want to go Kseries you will need 10,000$ BOTTOM LINE.. If you dont have that then STFU!
And turbo kit? WTF dude, You were talking about I/H/E but then you say turbo. YOU DO KNOW WHAT A TURBO IS RIGHT??? (retard link: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...o_tech101.html) you just got the car and your talkin about a turbo. Dont get me wrong turbo cars are fun as hell, matter fact my car is turbo. Thats another 3 - 4,000$ You can make your own setup but from the things ive read I doubt you can take the headers off let alone install and tune a turbo setup. So thats out of the question.
No disrespect dude but, Im getting the feeling that you dont know enough to scratch the surfface.
Get in there and do some work figure a few things out.. (HOW **** WORKS AND WHAT IT DOES FOR STARTERS)
Then come in here and ask questions about spending 15+Gs on a 1993 ACCORD.

Lol oh "this" you mention about 20 different contradicting things.

Do you want a K series or H series?

Do you want NA, Turbo, or Supercharger?

Have you done any research regarding any of that? No, no you haven't.

There's information in the Accord FAQ regarding most of things. There's a Forced Induction section, there's a NA section, there's tons of information. The probably is YOU, not Honda-Tech needs to decide what YOU want done to YOUR car.

I've written plenty of FAQs and the ones I haven't written I've done myself for the most part. My Accord was fully built up in every aspect save for internal motor work. I know what I'm talking about. I have a nice little Excel spreadsheet with all the parts, receipts for all of them, etc.

Being organized is KEY to having a good performing, good looking car. If you can't understand that then good luck, because you'll end up with a half assed car you spent triple the amount you needed to on.

what im looking up right now is a jdm type r k20 motor for $6800. i dont want a h22 cause its widely used by alot of honda fans. I would rather turbo than supercharge it anyday. and my fault about earlier dude, i was taking the comment in the bad way

It's fine. I usually know what I'm talking about and planning out what you want is a much better way to go about things.

To my knowledge there's only 2 K swapped CB chassis Accords, one is in progress. There is 1 completed (but parted and sold) and 1 in progress CD chassis Accord I know of.

AC you have to go custom
PS I believe you have to go custom

HondaSociety has the build thread of the K24 swap into a CD which is close to identical to a K20 into CB. I will honestly say for the money the H22 is a much better purchase, you can get the H22A or H23 blue top and an M2B4 (oem LSD tranny) for half that and it's a direct swap in that's been heavily documented.

Turbos on the H22's have been known to get upwards to 500+ hp. Fully built of course. (Booja and MrWonderfulll)

Why do people go so crazy for originality

For the money you'd put into a K, you could have a totally incredible super powerful H22. You get the same result

"k20? .....there will also be a turbo kit along with it?......actually man this is what i want for my car." You have officially joined honda-tech. SO does everyone. Everyone would like a turboed K bomb car for christmas this year. This sounds like when I was 15 and I would say man look at that car. Man if you slicked it out, painted it, put some rims on it, tinted the windows and put a stereo in it it would be cool. Of course it would. Almost any car could be much more fly with the correct above combination. Just like dropping a boosted KBomb into any Non V6 equipped Honda would be cool. When I hear speak like yours I always recommend to get some realistic power goals, figure out options/how to make that, and then decide whether its worth it. If you answer yes then continue by aquring the money to do so then do it."I may not be a honda tech, but I am a member" -- one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

Damn so do you think that a h22 is better than a k20 in the long run? you know besides money wise... cause 500+ is cool but iono i wanna go the extra mile for those few hp. then yea of course tricking it out is a must cause you cant rock a beast under the hood while ur car looks stock. But which one do you think is better for the exhaust. Catback or Skunk2? and LS headers for the vtec huh? or probably a GSR
