Good muffler to use for a 4th generation H22a accord and a 2.5 inch custom exhaust?
I currently have a DC Sports exhaust on my H22a powered accord, but am considering upgrading to a custom 2.5 inch exhaust. One question though. What is a good muffler to use with this type of custom setup? No one makes a 2.5 inch exhaust for the 4th generation accord, so i am going with a custom setup. I like the sound and quality of the DC Sports, but my car needs a larger diameter exhaust now.
Any recommendations?

i heard dc sports was pretty quiet..so on that regard i would get a borla turbo universal muffler. I've had one on my integra, and two on my v6 accord and was really happy with the sound and performance. it's pretty quiet and when you do hear it, its a deep tone, none of that lawnmower ****...
they cost about $100 without a tip, but its the best quality stuff you will ever buy, i think they come with a 1,000,000 mile warranty.

most like the Apexi line up.. WS or N1... the Dunk sounds nice too.. Tanabe is good
I want to get good power. I don't mind a bit more sound, but i don't want it to be overly exaggerated. My DC Sports exhaust has been on my car for over 3 years and to be honest, it is great. It is very, very quiet and works really well. I wish they made a larger diameter exhaust for the accord.
Would it be adviseable to run a resonator as well? I am running a test pipe with the 2.5 inch collector modification. Feels good, but with an entire 2.5 inch exhaust, i am positive my engine will be very happy!

yes, run a resonator for sure...
and trust me, the borla will make power...its a straight through exhaust

Anyone using the Borla? Any pics of it? I checked out their web site but cannot get a good view of how those mufflers look like.

can't find a better pic yet...i made it look stock...painted the muffler black, stock tip
Looks good. Is the borla model you have a 2.5 inch? Hard to describe, but how would you rate the noise level and sound quality if you could describe it as simply as possible? Damn, i just got used to my DC Sports!

that was on my GSR...it was a 2.25" because i placed it on a thermal 2.25" cat-back
the thermal cat back was really loud...very deep, but very loud...so i put this muffler on it and it quieted a lot, really made a difference...
i wont go into sound detail cause you can't compare something on a gsr to an accord...but it will be subtle, and a deep tone

i have a thermal on my h22 accord. i also have a test pipe, and honestly, it isnt loud. it's a nice deep tone, and the look is sleeper as well. I couldnt have asked for a better exhaust.
btw, as far as power, it made 2 more hp than no ehxaust and 1 more ft/lb- and compared to the stock piddley exhaust it made like 9 hp and 2 ft/lbs

2 3/4" mandrel bent catback with a 3" muffler such as vibrant etc... your peak #'s will be best and your torque loss down low will be very lil...
I've never heard a Borla exhaust tone but I can tell you that most straight through design mufflers are pretty loud. It's the price you pay for performance. Apex N1 is LOUD. Also 2.5 in piping def increases sound as well. i have DC headers modded with 2.5 back to an ES oval muffler. Its pretty loud and absolutely beastly in VTEC
