I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX car. The speed meter has had erratic(swing acutely) needle problem for some days when the car is cold. This morning the speed meter needle swung almost 360 degree clockwise and stuck on stop block. The needle can’t return to 0 mph position anymore. The speed meter needle just points 6 o’clock direction when the car is shut down. Do you know how much will be charged totally for fix this broken speed meter if I send this car to car repair shop? Is it any possible that speed meter still is able to be recovered? I think that it is too complicated to fix it by myself. Thank you very much!

 

bad vehicle speed sensor was probably at fault. remove cluster to see if the needle will drop back to original position.
