So me and my brother picked up a lonely little 89 CRX Si over in La Habra the guy said he was selling it for parts so he only wanted 500 for it well we lowballed him got it for 400 so now here it is i have done some progress on it since we got it, it was rear ended so it needs a new rear bumper support and beam front of it was okay needs a new driver side headlamp and hood to my surprise it has a DOHC ZC.....Bar'd IN CALI so that was a big plus since you cant bar these motors anymore...nice interior recently reupholstered with new carpet don't have pics of the inside though it also has current tags till June of 2010 so here are the pics enjoy I am hoping on selling it after getting much of the major damage fixed oh and the sunroof was completely shot, the sunroof didn't work turns out the cables needed some nice greasing up and now works, also today the 2,3,4 spark plugs were drowned in oil pulled the valve cover off and the spark plug gasket donuts where shot replaced them so now they should be good now here are the pics enjoy!!!

yea my sunroof lid is rusted, but not quite that bad. i thought that cars out west where supposed to be in better condition than cars from the south. haha oh well. wont be a bad project, you should get you money back and then some.

lol a hundred saved is a hundred earned gas for a month for me but yeah from what the guy told me though the crx originated somewhere in the mid eastern US so its probably seen some snow and what not being it a more wetter climate so im assuming thats what i have to blame for the rust but also the weather strip on it was rather flimsy and worn out

yea that sun roof lid is notorious for rusting apart. ive had one break if half in my hands before. i took mine off the other day, i noticed rust comming up through the paint. ill be able to save the lid, but maybe not all the parts that hold the moulding on
time to make a trip to the junk yard!
ive pulled lid, track and motor before and the guy stood there with his mouth open staring at me, and let me have it for $20.

i would love to keep it but im gonna use the funds from this after i sell it to fund my 90 si so its still a win win i save a rex get paid for doing it and dump the extra cash on my 90 si
yes it is hard to part with a rex you fixed yourself. ive done it before, and ill never do it again. $500 for car, replaced front end and windshield. went to trade it for another car, deal went sour. ended up havin to repo the car from an old 'friend'.
when i got it back it was dodge charger orange, and was stripped completely inside. i could have cried. then i sold the shell to a guy that was goning to re-restore the car, and a friend sent me pics of it in the junkyard a few days later.
