1996 Honda Accord AC is leaking
Hi , I am a new member, My '96 Honda Accord has AC leak along it's evaporator, I need a procedure on how to remove the dashboard so I can replace the evaporator, please also include any safety in doing it, thank you in advance
according to the factory service manual:
First off, all SRS harnesses are wrapped in yellow tape (so do not unplug or touch unless you disengage the SRS unit)
Discharge all the refrigerant in the system.
Disconnect the receiver and suction line of the evap and immediately lug lines to minimize any moisture entering.
Take out the glove box, and the glove box frame.
Then take all the bolts out of the evap.
There appears to be 7 connectors (looks like a mixture of bolts and plastic screws, but hard to tell, but there is 7).
And there is one A/C thermostat harness that connects to it.
Seems how you are replacing it, add refrigerant oil to the system, replace o-rings, and apply sealant to the grommets.
I hope this helps you out some. This is what the factory service manual says.

Hi tamadrunner1120,
Thank you for your immediate reply, I already read your response, I already did taking out the glove box a while ago but I only see a black plastic (almost square in shape), As I check there is no possibility of taking it out as long as the dashboard is in place, that is why I want to know on how I can take out the dashboard, please help and thank you again in advance.

well the black box is obviously it, so no explaining that, but they do not show the need for the dash to be removed in the tech manual (which is the real deal, it is like 1300+ pages).
Worst comes to worst, grab a haynes manual at your local auto store, and see what they say for removing it/ the dash.
good luck man!
