painting my car
Im about to paint my car and this is my first time. I primered and prepped everything and was wondering how to spray it. Like do i start top to bottom or bottom to top, front to back or back to front? jams first?
honestly u can start where ever u want, i started from the hood and worked my way around.
when i did the last base coat i started from the top because overspay on the hood/trunk tends to stand out if u do the top for last.
hope this helpd

you wanna edge out the car all the openings widows headlights tails door handles let the paint dry then re-tack the car then start roof hood fenders doors 1/4s trunk. 6-8 inches away 50-60% overlap. this is what i did with my car. DONT PANEL PAINT

panel painting is doing just the door then the fender etc.etc. you wanna have it staggered
ill draw up a pic to show it better
you dont want to start and stop in the same area...causes dark spots

Don't start at the body seams....so, for example, don't stop your spray pattern at the edge between the fender and the door. If you have to stop, stop in the middle of the door or fender. Paint over with the seam without stopping
Start from the top to the bottom. I do one half of the roof do a and c pilliars do half of trunk lid go to the otherside do the same roof, trunk, that whole side and half of the hood and go back to the other side and finish, let base coat flash for at least 10 min, tack cloth in between base ONLY. Jams you wanna do before you do the exterior, cant do both at the same time unless you have doors hood and a trunk lid off
yea...i couldnt explain that for some reason
