I am about to buy a SiR lip for my ej6 and was wondering if the hardware kit is necessary?

 

yes if your front bumper doesnt have them already , i just bought OEM SIR front lip from honda for my hatch and i had to buy the hardware for it , it was about $26 bucks for everything

you can buy everything you will need at lowe's or home depot. just test fit it with other honda bolts/screws you have lying around.

 

Or try the junkyard - the hardware is the same as found on the 5th Gen DX and EX (or Si) Coupe OEM front lip (and Civic VX). I see them everywhere. That will get you most of the way there. Only a couple of bolts left after that I think.

If you don't want to buy those from honda then just go to the hardware store.

The proper name for those pieces are "U-Type Speed Nuts".
