f1 clutch, 00 civic si
i'm an auto tech and just installed my new f1 stage 2 clutch with an f1 light weight fly wheel. car is back together and runs pretty well. just a couple questions. the clutch disc is a kevlar composite disc, and the fly wheel is a one piece billet steel wheel. i also replaced the throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and pressurep late assemlby i got with the clutch kit. sometimes when i try to shift from a stop into first or shift to other gears it's kinda tough. not all the time though. my transfluid is the official MTF from honda and toped off to spec and my gears and synchros are in good condition. i did clean and lube the input shaft splines lightly and the part of the shaft the T/O bearing sits around, along with other contact points on the fork. i have an official service manual from honda i've been going off of for clutch pedal ajustments. there's a slight gap between the push rod and the master cylinder which is required according to my honda manual. if a adjust it slightly tigher ( close the gap slightly more) it should make it shift easier, ie disengage the pressure plate further from the clutch disc. also it's like learning to drive a manual all over jsut about, it grips very well and quick, i do realize you do lose some of the inertia sense the fly wheel is lighter and that is revs quicker than stock. i know it will take a couple days of driving to become used to the new set up. any ideas about the shifting issue, or do you believe i'm heading in the right direction which pedal adjustments?
