Default Transmission Rebuild

I am wanting to rebuild an old YS1 ls tranny. I am a bit cautious about using the housing because the dif pin slipped and chipped some of the oiling fins a good bit. I am planning on running an obx limited slip and I am quite sure I would have to trim these fins anyways, but I was just wondering what someone with experience in tranny rebuilds says.

Also I was planning on running the gears that are in there now with a 4.4fd, I am mostly interested in acceleration, but it will be driven daily. The engine will either be ls/t, gsr, or gsr/t. I just can't decide on a motor Would these ratios give me desirable results?

Yes you are right. The little fins by the diff have to be grinded away to make clearance in the case for it. Had to do the same thing with my YS1. As for ratios use an ls gear for turbo and a shorter one for vtec if u go gsr-t go with the short gears with a long 5th for the highway
