I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX car. Recently I found that the speed meter is erratic or points zero when car is not hot yet. The speed meter needle swing acutely or just points on zero, the trip meter stops count when the car in beginning 20 minutes of driving every morning. But after driving about 20 minutes the speed meter and trip meter become work normally and keep work normally at all time. Every evening after car shut down and park for 8 hours the speed meter has very few minutes erratic problem at the beginning then become work normally very soon. I live in Seattle. Every morning it still is little cold. But afternoon it is much warm. It looks that this problem is connected with car operation temperature. The engine light is NOT on. What kind of part failed will cause this problem? Is it Speed Sensor or Speed meter itself? Thanks a lot!
