I've got this little problem when i turn the steering wheel, there is this light whining sound coming from the front of the car. It's hard to explain but its a light "boooooooo" when i turn the car either way. Usually only happens if i turn the steering wheel all the way.
I'm just wondering if any of you guys have had this problem? or would know what would be causing it?
The car is a 92 Civic CX, so it doesn't have powersteering.
Also a couple of weeks ago, while changing brake pads, and compressing the caliper piston, there was a light leak from the steering rack. not much fluid leakage, and it hasn't leaked anymore since.
Thanks in advance.

Since you don't have power steering I don't know what to tell ya about the sound every car I have ever had with power steering if your turn it as far as it will go the pump will whine and draw down your rpm.
As far as your brake change. As your brake pads wear down you master cylinder looses shows less fluid to compensate for how much pad you have lost over time. So if you ad more and more as needed then have to change your brakes when you press the caliper piston in to fit the pads on the rotor it pushed brake fluid out the top of your master cylinder, leaking down on your rack that's what I would think had happened.

any way to find out if the wheel bearing is bad without just changing it? i'm not keeping this car for much longer so i'd like to avoid anything that's going to be costly.
