King Motorsports 2009 BBQ + Dyno Day Meet Summary, Pictures and Videos
Great to see a good turn out yesterday... So, I saw a lot of cameras out there, let's see some pictures + videos.
The turn out was definitely bigger than last year with the street packed with cars which resulted in cars having to be parked on the grass. What were your thoughts about this year's BBQ + Dyno Day? How can KMS make the event bigger and better next year?
Keith

Finally, I have a moment to collect my thoughts and jot some notes on my feelings of this year's event.
This year's turn out was better than last year and better than I had anticipated. There were cars parked up and down the street and even on the grass in front of the office. The year before, the street wasn't even filled up...
Personally, I enjoyed last year's lunch (BBQ chicken!) and it was WELL worth the money. It just wasn't ideal to eat without a table or chair and make everything cumbersome. It's a bummer that they ran out of burgers, cheese and didn't have any beans ready by the time many of us were getting lunch. My girlfriend and I (along with a couple others) stayed at the tables to save them while the rest of our group went to get lunch which was about 12:30pm. So we had to settle for brats if we wanted anything to eat. It wasn't the end of the world but I would have thought that it's better to have extra food than not enough especially if people are paying for lunch.
We also learned last year that parking half on the grass and half on the pavement resulted in an undesired height difference between the front and back and looked pretty crappy for pictures. That's why we opted to park in the circle where parking was flat.
The quality of the t-shirts this year were much better than last year's lightweight one. The swag bag was also improved with everyone getting KMS license plate holder and various stickers.
I would have liked to see the return of the KMS black S2000 and JDM RHD CRX that were their last year. Some people were asking the difference between the OEM S2000 hard top versus a Mugen one and unfortunately, nobody had one to show.
It was great to have music on site from start to finish as well... I noticed there was somebody available to take orders for parts which was definitely better than last year (a bunch of us hassled Rob so we can pick up some swag
). It's unfortunate they didn't have a Mugen FRP hard top in stock so I could take advantage of the 10% discount that day.
Overall, the trip/event exceeded my expectations... even the weather cooperated and was not as hot as last year. Last year, we came with 4 cars and 5 people, this year we came with 13 people and 8 cars. But I can't help thinking how can it get much better than this year? The facility can't physically handle much more cars on the premises... so has the event gotten as big as it possible can in just its second year?
Great job guys!

I think next year I’ll just buy a food ticket and not preregister , rather have my car sit on level ground instead of in a hole just looks bad.

The K20 teg is from the Sheboygan/ Green Bay area I believe. He is on another forum that I am on.
I can't complain about this event really. I had fun and meet a lot of cool people again. I was talking to Jude how they should cut down all the crash behind the dynoing area and pave that so they could fit more cars and have autox.
Glad to see they put my old, nasty valve cover to use.

what kind of work was done to the gunmetal coupe with the k-swap? i remember it put down fantastic results on dyno!
I took a lot of pics but damn PB bandwidth exceeded right now. and the k20d teg is jon. i doubt he would trade you unless you would want to trade shells.
Didn't that Prelude win the with the most hp in the dyno? 414hp or thereabouts?
Now you're talkin'! I'd be all for that or a track day.
*sigh*, wish my Prelude was running well again to make the trip. Had to settle with driving up in the Pilot. At least it was comfy.

Here is the dyno vid i put together. it looses quality since i had to put it in movie maker. And sorry i didnt get videos of everyone that dynoed.
